｜異教徒｜ Yeah buddy! These right here are some crisp, cool vapor jams. The style on this is really clean with the production cranked up to 💯. Probably my favorite release of VANITAS命死. 'Dune Buggy Ride' is one kick-ass track, but this whole album needs to be heard. Genuine classic!

Dionysus Virus I love this album. It’s pretty much a classic Hip Hop album with 80’s film sounds and then it adds a little splash of vaporwave vibes. The penultimate track Retro Automatic has beautiful horns and glitches which make it a tie for my favorite track with the first track “Immersive Listening Experience” which has a fat block rocking beat. Everything on here is great including the jazzy Barber Beats feel of the last track. It’s difficult for me to figure out what playlist this will go into. Thanks. Favorite track: Retro Automatic.

2021 has continued to be a prolific year for the Belgian vaporwave producer known as VANITAS命死. Following his two releases on Business Casual and first release on Pacific Plaza in 2020, he has continued to release multiple projects in 2021 with his final release of the year marking his return to Pacific Plaza!

"Secret stereo™" finds VANITAS命死 venturing out of the world of high art and into the world of pre-internet working class nostalgia- sports, cars, stereos, cassettes and late night drives. The album opens with a monster of a track ("Immersive Listening Experience") that could only fit inside a stadium- all growling synths and smashing drums. In true vaporwave fashion, other tracks stretch samples into slick neon-night grooves ("Cityscape Views") or swirl into psychedelic jazz reverie ("Mitsubishi Starion").

VANITAS命死 pushes the boundaries of vaporwave's chopped-and-screwed aesthetic with his idiosyncratic drum programming, sample cut-ups and detailed audio effects processing. Snippets of familiar melodies and beats float in through the haze of warped keyboards and clanging percussion. Whether it's stuttering saxophones ("Secret Home Video System") or the bounce of a reggae riddim ("Dune Buggy Ride"), VANITAS命死 flexes his range as a producer on this new album.

Climb into the Mitsubishi Starion and press the gas... after the football match, were hitting the road for a night drive and we might not come back.. It's time to listen to the "Secret stereo™" 📻

The streets crawl every second of the day, from packed transit lines in the morning to lonely glossy trains in the evening. Whether it be stumbling home for the afterparty or stumbling to work after the party, the way the city thumps in harmony doesn't ever stop.
